CPD is devoted to the safety of all LGBTQIA residents and visitors.
Charleston Police Department (CPD) SAFE PLACE is a signage program being implemented around the city, where local supporting community members, businesses, schools, and organizations, have the opportunity to visibly display their back for the LGBTQIA community and work closely with the Charleston Police Department in an attempt to encourage reporting and reducing anti-LGBTQIA crimes.

About this MCC church: MCC Charleston is the South Carolina Low Country&#;s first Christian community created by and designed to fully embrace and affirm LGBTQ+ people. Today many other allies are drawn to a progressive, affirming, and Bible teaching home.
We are the first LGBTQ+ organization in our state to purchase, renovate and maintain our own property and to produce it available to many other groups.
Our food bank, staffed entirely by volunteers, has served the needs of the broader community for over two decades and feeds an average of individuals a month.
Our Sunday morning gathering, both onsite and livestreaming on our Facebook page, is an inspiring, worshipful experience blending prayers, traditional historic hymns, contemporary Christian music, personal testimony, Bible readings and an inspirational message from our ordained pastor, with opportunities to respond.
